    Caltrans requires a lead pilot car at 12'0" and over.

  • Chase (rear) pilot carover 14'0" width

    Both lead and chase required at 14'0" and over.

  • Height-pole escortover 15'0" height

    Height-pole-equipped lead car for loads taller than 15'0".

Travel restrictions

  • Daylight-only travelover 12'0" width

    Daylight-only movement for any load over 12'0" wide.

Driver & inspection requirements

  • Certified escort driver requiredover 12'0" width

    California escort drivers must hold a CHP-recognized escort certification.
