Jeep (dolly)

An extra axle set placed between the truck and trailer to spread heavy weight.

A jeep is a wheeled dolly inserted between the tractor and the trailer's gooseneck to add axles up front. More axles spread the load's weight across more points so it stays under per-axle and bridge-formula limits. Heavy moves often run one or more jeeps in front and boosters behind.
