Schnabel trailer

A specialized trailer where the load itself forms the middle of the trailer.

A Schnabel is a heavy-haul trailer that grips a massive load — a transformer, a reactor vessel — at each end so the load itself becomes the structural center span of the trailer, with no deck underneath it. It's used for some of the heaviest, tallest moves on the road and almost always travels as a superload with multiple escorts and route engineering.
